WAHOO!!! We’re crossing that finish line!

9 Apr

Alright everyone, we have officially reached the end of our 24 hours.
WAHOO!!!
Sorry to leave you alone for the past couple of hours, but we had to wrap up all the awesomeness to get ready for our presentations. Watch our live stream! You’ve followed us this far, follow us across that finish line and see the final products of all our hard work. We’ll begin presenting at 10:30am, and really hope you will watch!

It’s been a really incredible journey for all of us. We can’t thank you enough, our loyal internet supporters. You have really kept the energy up for us. The fact that you’re watching, that you’re proud of us and that you can see what we’re doing for the good of the community has kept us going in times of sleepless delirium. You’ve given us over a thousand blog hits over the hours, and kept the Twitter hashtag #CreateAthonCHA as the number one most used hashtag in Chattanooga practically since we started. Thank you so much for everything!

It isn’t over yet!!

Stay tuned on our Blog, Twitter, and Facebook to keep up with the continuing work as we finish what we’ve started here in the past 24 hours. Thanks again, and we’ll see you at 10:30!

What can you do? (9pm Hourly Update)

8 Apr

As part of all the crazy thorough preparation UTC’s Junior Design class did for this event, they made some awesome t-shirts for everyone that let each of us show off our skills. Each shirt has a blank space where the wearer can write what they can do right on the shirt. Check out what some of us here at UTC have written on our shirts.

Also, a real quick shout out to all you guys keeping up with us. Thanks so much for taking an interest and giving us your support and love. Our twitter hashtag (#CreateAthonCHA) is officially at this moment the most used hashtag in Chattanooga! You guys are awesome, keep sending us the good vibes.

Video: Pep Rally at Dalewood Middle School

8 Apr

Just a quick video of the pep rally at Dalewood Middle this morning. Watching this video is keeping us going, reminding us of the amazing kids and teachers that we’re working for here. When we get tired or frustrated (yes, it does happen), we watch this video. Of all the tips we just posted, this is by far the most energizing thing on our list. It feels so wonderful to be working so hard for such awesome kids.

How can you stay energized? (8pm Hourly Update)

We had an awesome dinner, and are back into the full swing here at CreateAthon onCampus! As we reach the sunset, we’re starting to find ourselves in need of some extra energy! We’ve worked out a few methods to keep our energy up, and would like to share them with you (for when you do a CreateAthon event, wink wink!) So here it is:

How to stay energized

  • Plenty of Red Bull

6pm Hourly Update: Sharing the awesome

8 Apr

Check out some of the footage from our meetings. We’re really excited about the ideas we’re discussing here and excited to see where they go! It’s pretty piecemeal, but we don’t want to give away all of our secrets just yet. ;)

We’ll see you all again at 8pm. We’re skipping our 7pm update because it’s dinner time. Yum!

5pm Hourly Update: Kicking into high gear

8 Apr

We just had a really productive hour here at UTC! Even more mentors from around the area have come in to lend their expertise and wisdom as we work toward some really amazing things for Dalewood Middle School. We had our first group meeting with all the groups coming together to share ideas and give each other the encouragement and support. There really are some great things in store, like a student art gallery, a status report system for the principal and even some architectural awesomeness. All this excitement has us on the edge of our seats already, so to take a breather and clear our minds, we did some yoga. Jayne from Joyful Yoga at Sunny Shore graciously came in and led a short yoga session for us. We were so happy to have her, and really enjoyed the opportunity to stretch our muscles and calm our minds. We’ll have a video of this fun soon!

Keep looking for our hourly updates! It might be a blog, it might be a video, but whatever it is, it will be awesome.
